muppetcam is my own home-grown webcam app for linux. i wrote it specifically because the vicam.o module included with the linux kernel is old and buggy; the 3com HomeconnectUSB camera (which uses a vicam chip) is better supported by the homeconnectusb project, but the kernel module they distribute does (or at least at the time did) rather crappy image scaling when correcting the hardware's odd aspect ratio.
so, i wrote a bit of userland code to talk to the device directly over usb (using the aforementioned project's library), and then had to build an app around it. since i was doing this for elysse, i designed it around her requirements, and that's all it does.
